The completionist’s last empty spaces

Turn the next empty entry into a small expedition: compare its water, habitat and window before choosing what to carry.

Field guide

Start with one family rather than the whole encyclopedia. Blue Mackerel has three aberrations: Grotesque Mackerel, Lumpy Mackerel and Many-Eyed Mackerel. Consider them together in Species compare, then choose the one you most want to see.

Do not carry a familiar fish’s window over to every unfamiliar form. Grey Eel is active by day and night; its aberration Barbed Eel is listed for daytime. Check the actual entry before planning the next attempt.

Your encyclopedia already records which forms you have caught, and Aberrations explains how Atrophy works on the gaps it shows. For this next voyage, an empty entry can be an invitation to look closely at one creature rather than a demand to finish everything.
