How much more is an aberration worth? The mackerel family compared
Blue Mackerel sells for $10 and its aberrations for up to four times that, on the same two-slot footprint.
Blue Mackerel sells for $10. Its three aberrations sell for more, with Grotesque Mackerel at $30, Lumpy Mackerel at $35 and Many-Eyed Mackerel at $40, four times the original.
All four keep the same two-slot footprint, so value per slot follows the price, from $5 for the original to $20 for the Many-Eyed form. They share the Coastal habitat and the daytime window in The Marrows, so the water that gives one can give the others.
Species compare sets any fish side by side, marks the highest value, the highest value per slot and the smallest footprint, and states every other fish’s gap to them. Aberrations are chance catches; Aberrations covers the rod bonuses and the Atrophy rule that improve the odds.
